Greetings, Dragonfly Family! My name is LaWanda "Wanda" Simpkins, and I will be the president of our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for the 2024-2025 school year. It is my honor to sit in this seat, and I know I speak on behalf of the board when I say we are excited about our current school year. This year, we begin our journey taking footsteps in alignment with our theme, "Building Bridges within our School Community," to help enhance and strengthen this dynamic community that each of us is a part of.
At Dillard Drive Magnet Elementary School, our families are at the heart of our work. As a PTA, our highest priority is our students, staff, and teachers, and every decision we make is with them in mind. If you haven't already, I encourage you to join our thriving PTA. Your voice and presence are crucial to our school, and our children depend on us to make a difference.

Our school is seeking volunteers to assist with carpool line duties during dropoff and pick up to ensure the safety of everyone. Your help will allow our staff to focus on classroom instruction and make drop-off and pick-up smoother.

SCOTT REINTGEN author of THE LAST DRAGON ON MARS will speak at Dillard Drive Elementary on September 24, 2024 - (In-school field trip for 4th and 5th grade students only)
The first book of The Dragonship Series by author Scott Reintgen is scheduled to release October 1. DDMES students can pre-order a special edition hardcover copy of The Last Dragon on Mars between now and September 26, 2024.
